swinging

We have one single swing in our backyard. I'm sure it has been here for years...probably almost as long as the house has. My kids love it, and they fight over it. I've told Jake we have got to do something about there being one swing for three kids. Hopefully one day we will get a swing set but for now we have our single swing that we love.

The boys were playing at a friends house and Jake was using a jack hammer in the basement creating a ton of dust and noise so Ava and I took our party outside. It was a beautiful evening, quite different from the cold morning temperature and pouring rain we had earlier. Ava begged for me to push her on the swing, something she does on a daily basis. I enjoy those rare moments when I get to spend one on one time with each of my kids. Love this girl!

Ballet

Little miss Ava has been taking ballet for a few months now and she loves it! She is always asking if it's time to go to ballet class. She will also correct me and tell me it is ballet class and not dance class! These were taken just before her first day of class. She has the most wonderful teachers who she adores. She is by far the smallest one in the class, we are getting used to this! She has learned to balance on her tip toes, flex and point her toes, and spin around. It is so adorable to watch my little three year old practice her ballet. Before every class Jack will tell Ava that it is time to practice and I will find them dancing and stretching together. Looking forward to many more ballet classes and recitals!

rapunzel rapunzel let down your hair

Here is our little miss wearing her new Rapunzel dress she received from the Easter bunny. She begs to wear this all the time. Mostly I give in and let her put it on unless we are going somewhere. She also has the shoes to match. She has been telling me that she wants long hair like Rapunzel. I guess it's time to start growing it out again! In the meantime, I'll have to get her Rapunzel's wig. Maybe that might do the trick until her hair starts growing and getting thicker.

Yesterday I caught here sitting down on the floor in her dress looking through the American Girl doll catalog. As she is pointing to the dolls, she is telling me the ones she wants, which just might be all of them!

Someone asked me today if Ava's hair was naturally streaked. Of course she knew I wouldn't color it but she was just amazed at how gorgeous her hair is and how perfectly naturally highlighted it is! I must say her hair is absolutely beautiful! I sure hope it stays this color.

more curls

Ava has been asking me to curl her hair "just like mommy's". So this morning we did a few curls. Turned out super cute but didn't last for more than an hour or so. She loved being just like her mommy!

curls

Who would have thought Jack had curly hair?! We had no idea until we started growing it out several months ago. We decided it would be fun to grow both Sam and Jack's hair out and see how they would look with a little bit longer hair. Sam can't quite pull that look off so off his hair went. Jack on the other hand has wonderful curls. We LOVE his curls and hope he decides to keep this look for a while!

This picture cracks me up! Jack is down right mad here! I'll have to mention why during the Easter post!

Run in with the road

The other night Jake had taken the kids to the church to ride bikes and scooters. The kids were having a great time until Sam had a run in with the road. He turned a corner too fast and landed flat on his face, smashing his nose into the concrete. Poor kid! He had a bloody nose and face, and bruised up arms and legs. These pictures were taken the next morning before school. Not too bad for how hard he hit the concrete! It's amazing how many times a week something like this happens when you have three kiddos running around!

Ava and her bike

I have heard and seen wonders from these strider balance bikes, so last fall we bought Ava her very own pink one. She loves it! She is doing great learning to walk and balance with it. We live on a steep hill so one on the safest and easiest places to ride bikes is the church parking lot. You will find us there several times a week riding bikes and scooters. One afternoon Jake took the kids over there to ride bikes. Miss Ava insisted on going instead of staying back to help me with dinner. I was able to snap a picture of her before she yelled at me to stop!
