The many faces of Ava!

We were sitting outside watching the boys play when Ava decided to show me how many different faces she could pull. I love this girl and I am thoroughly enjoying having a daughter!

Our day trip to Utah, Colorado and Wyoming!

Last Saturday we decided to take a day trip to see some of the sights around here. Even if the Uintah Basin doesn't have many places to shop they sure do have a lot of places to fish, bike, ride, hike, walk, and places to see.

We fist started off going to a place called Calder Reservoir to see if we could try our luck at catching a fish. We didn't catch anything but the boys sure had fun trying to catch a fish with their daddy's help. We then drove to a place called Browns Park which is where there is an old looking bride that is called a "swinging bridge." This bridge goes over the Green River and is still is in usable condition.....looking at it you might not think so! The original bridge sign read, "Load limit 200 sheep, 30 cattle, or 3 and a half ton gross." We would watch cars go over it and you could see the bridge move underneath as the car would drive over it. It was only a little bit wider than our truck.....pretty narrow bridge! It was actually neat to go over such an old bridge.....that boys thought is was pretty cool!

We then headed to a wildlife refuge place that was a few miles into Colorado. We took a little nature walk and found these cool lime green yellow frogs everywhere! Just as we were about to get ready to go to our next stop Sam turned around and hit his head of the tailgate of the truck. I was busy chasing after Jack when I heard Sam screaming. Jake was already right there grabbing him to take him in the visitors building to clean him up. I felt so bad.....I looked at Samuel and all I could see was blood all over his face. He kept rubbing his face and then would get blood in his eyes and then he would scream even more. After a few minutes of getting cleaned up, getting a band-aid and some love he was as good as new! We continued on to a place called Jarvi Historic Ranch. We actually found out while we were at the refuge place that there was some type of festival going on in Jarvie with food, crafts, games and a horse carriage ride. We couldn't pass on the opportunity to check out the horse ride! We got a hot dog and then waited for our ride on the horse drawn carriage. Jack was in heaven being so close to the horses!

Our final destination was to Flaming Gorge where we crossed into Wyoming for a few miles. We were able to see the Flaming Gorge dam and cross over another bridge.....this one not quite as old or scary! We drove a total of about 130 miles that day.....there is about 180 miles from Vernal to Salt Lake. The boys did great that day....hardly any crying or fighting and Ava did fabulous also. I only had to feed her once and she slept and was just happy hanging out in the backpack ! We had so much fun as a family that day....we are hoping to see some of our beautiful surroundings soon!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my Dad! I wanted to tell you how much I love and appreciate you! I know sometimes that I don't always show you or tell you the way I should. I want you to know how much you mean to me and how much you have helped me in my life.

Looking back on my life up until now I remember all the times that you helped me, supported me in whatever I was doing at the time, always brought humor into my life, and loved me, Ryan and my mother unconditionally. I am so grateful that you chose to join the church and were a worthy priesthood holder in our home. Thank you for all of the many priesthood blessings you gave me at certain times in my life. I want you to know that I appreciate the countless hours you spent going to lunch with me in Elementary school, helping me with school assignments, going to all of my basketball games, going to the Jazz games with me, playing basketball with me, helping me with homework, and working so hard to be a great daddy to me and Ryan. Now that I have my own kids I realize that you will do anything for your children.....and that is what you have done for me! You really were the best daddy to me!!

Happy Father's Day to my Jake. I feel so blessed to have you in my life and that you are the father of my children. I see the way you interact with all three of our children and they are so blessed to have you as their daddy. You fill our lives with fun and adventure. The boys are always so excited to see you when you get home from work. All they want you to do is play with them....and you do.....even when you are tired after a long day of work you take the time to play with them and love them. I notice all of the times that you pick each one of them up and tell them how much you love them and give them hugs and kisses.

Thank you for being the provider for our family and allowing me to be at home with our children. Thank you for being a worthy priesthood holder and giving council to us and priesthood blessings to us in time of need. We love you .......and thanks for just being you!!

Swing Batter Batter!!

We got our T-ball sets out the other day (we have two of them, one for each of them) they both love hitting the balls with the bat. Jack was being so cute as he was concentrating and licking his lips! His dad does the same thing as he is concentrating on something. I thought it was so adorable....like father like son!

Splish Splash I was taking a SHOWER!!

Jake introduced our boys to the shower......I actually like it because on the days that they are really dirty from playing in the sand (which is mostly everyday) they get in the shower and don't have to bathe in the dirty bath water! They do both a lot of sitting and standing while in the shower. I will tell them when it is time to get out and they will tell me "no not yet mom, I will tell you when!" They are already learning to love to take long showers!! I had to capture them being so cute in the shower!

My new hat!

We decided because of Ava's red hair and fair skin she needed a hat to wear while we play outside. She doesn't seem to mind wearing it at all and I think she looks adorable in it! I actually noticed while I was going through the pictures tonight that she is getting her third tooth on the bottom right side. I had to make sure so I washed my hands, went into her room where she was sleeping soundly in her crib and checked.....sure enough she is getting her third tooth!
