Happy fourth of July!

We had a very happy but exhausting 4th of July.  I love this summer holiday with all of the food, swimming, parades and fireworks.

We started are day off with going to the Vernal City parade where we saw lots of tractors, horses and dinosaurs......I guess that is to be expected since we are in farm country land!  The boys even got sprayed with water and got candy thrown to them!  We then headed to McDonalds for a happy meal and headed home.

We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and playing in the water.  Later that evening the boys did poppers and sparklers and we only had one minor mishap with Jack burning his finger on the sparkler.  Burn cream and a band aid seemed to make it all better!  We finished the night off with heading to the park for fireworks.  We ended up sitting in the back of the truck on chairs and a blanket.  We had the perfect spot for viewing fireworks....no trees or mountains in the way.  Halfway through the fireworks Jack kept telling us he wanted to go back home and go to sleep in his bed......he had had enough!  We actually made it through all of the fireworks and within 2 minutes of driving home all three kids were fast asleep!  We had a wonderful but exhausting day.

Future NFL player?!

These pictures were taken about a month ago while Jake and his co-workers were playing football at the park. Samuel decided he was done playing with Jack, Ava and I and said he was going to go play football with the big boys. It was a blast watching him run, catch the ball, and throw the ball. He thought he was pretty special to be playing with daddy and his friends! He sure does love to be the center of attention!

Ava the horse!

This is what Jack does to his sister when I am not looking. He happened to find the string from the lace and trace cards in the diaper bag and was trying to tie his sister up to the rocking horse. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he just wanted Ava to be a horse! Ava didn't seemed to mind being a horse....she actually thought it was fun. Silly Jack. I actually caught Jack one time taking the monkey harness buddy backpack and putting the loop that the parents hold onto around Ava's ankle and dragging her across the floor. Luckily she didn't get hurt.....just scared her and me to death!

Roasting Time!

We decided to get a fire pit so that we could spend time together as a family and roast hot dogs and make smores. The boys love cooking their own hot dogs and smores but I think they love eating them even more!
