frogs

A few weeks ago Jake was mowing the lawn and found a cute little frog on the grass. He caught it and showed it to the kids, who thought it was the coolest thing ever. Laster that day we went out and bought our newest little friend a home and found him some nice crickets to eat. About a week later the kids and I were playing outside. Jack begins to tell me that he sees another frog. I asked him if he thought it was a grasshopper and it tells me no, not a grasshopper a frog! He was right, we now have ourselves two little frogs! The first one we found the kids decided to name him Flipper the Frog. The second frog we found they decided his name should be Freddy the Frog. The kids love them and love looking for food for our new pets.

Preschool

Jack had his first day of preschool yesterday on August 24th. It is still hard to believe that Jack is old enough to go to preschool. He knew who his teachers would be and the school since Sam went there last year. We love Forever Young preschool, they do an amazing job with the kids.

The morning of preschool Jack got up, took and bath, ate breakfast and got all ready to go, including his shoes and backpack on before it was even time to go. He was that excited to go. He let me take a few pictures outside of our house and then he said "I've had enough pictures, let's go to preschool." Sam being the big brother he is helped walk his brother up the path to the door. Jack is greeted by his teachers, puts his backpack in the cubby, and goes off to play with play dough. He looked a bit nervous and unsure as I took a few pictures but I knew he would be fine. So off we went on our way. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry. Luckily I held back the tears until I got in the car. It was hard for me to leave him because of how he looked a bit unsure. Samuel is so happy go lucky and loves people and makes friends easily. Jack on the other hand is more cautious of his surroundings and is a bit more quiet unitl he warms up to you.

This morning as we got ready to go Jack complained of a stomach ache. I was sure it was just nerves. I told his teacher and she was so sweet to send me a picture on my phone of him playing and having a great time. Jack will go to prechool Tuesday-Thursday for two hours a day. It will be interesting when Samuel starts Kindergarten next week and they are both gone at the same time. It is so hard to watch your kids grow up. I have been a wreck this week as I have realized that my kids are growing up. I don't know what I am going to do when I take Sam to Kindergarten a week from today! It's so exciting for them but at the same time you wish you could keep them little forever. I know Jack is ready for this and will love it, it will be so good for him.

Summer treats

One thing my kids know really well is treats....thanks to both daddy and mommy! There is nothing better than a yummy neapolitan ice cream cone. Don't you just love summer....I sure do! I can't believe that in a few short weeks it will be over and my Samuel goes off to kindergarten and Jack goes to preschool. We have been enjoying every last bit of summer left!

Summer

I love summer. The hot weather, being outside, the food, warm evenings outside, visiting neighbors, riding bikes, swimming, going on walks, but mostly I love watching my children play outside in the summer. Here are our busy kiddos enjoying some super hero popsicles and water guns on a very hot day!

Moving Back

After 15 months of living in Vernal, our time here is coming to an end. We found out today that the company Jake works for got a job at the University of Utah building student housing. We have known for several months that Gramoll was trying to get this job at the University. I have mixed emotions about this. We feel very blessed to have another job to do but I also am going to miss the people and things about Vernal. We have met some wonderful people here and live in the best neighborhood. I sure am going to miss it.

We will still be here until next spring as the job doesn't begin until February and Sam and Jack are going to be in school/preschool. We have been so blessed to have been given the opportunity to live here for the past year but we are grateful we now know where we are supposed to be next.

Could she be any cuter?

This morning I took out my flat iron and straightened Ava's hair.....I think it looks adorable and makes her look more and more like a little girl and not a baby! After all she is almost 21 months old! Look at those baby blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair......even though I really really wanted my little girl to have my dark hair and green eyes, I think she is the most adorable little girl on earth! She is our little girly girl....she loves for me to do her hair and has a fascination with her shoes! She is always wanting to put her shoes on.

Bike Riding

Ava watching and cheering her brothers on. This is her pose she likes to do.....she tips her head to one side as if she is shrugging her shoulders. She does this and knows she can get her way!

Samuel got a bike for his birthday back in March and has really liked it, but has been really timid on it. Jake spent a good hour with him in the church parking lot yesterday working on riding it and helping him to gain more confidence on his bike. He has done great and is a lot more confident on the bike.

Jack has outgrown his tricycle so yesterday we got him his very own big bike. He LOVES it and has caught on to it very quickly. He has wanted to ride it nonstop. Sam and Jack love riding their bikes with each other and I think Jack getting on a bike and riding it has helped Sam to get more confident.....I don't think he wants his little brother to beat him on it!
