New Home

  • Primary Photo [click for next photo]
We are very excited about moving into our new house. It is in Holladay, and has about 2200 Sq ft, but only about 1100 sq ft finished. Jake is excited about the basement not being finished so we can do what we want with it. We close on our house in a couple of days. The house is in amazing condition for how old it is (built in 1942) We are very excited to have a place to call our own! I have already told Jake we will NOT be moving again anytime soon! I am sad to leave Vernal but excited for what is to come!

The L Family

A friend here in Vernal asked me to take pictures of her family. We had great overcast conditions and, when you add a beautiful family, you have great pictures. The kids were desperate to get done so they could get ice cream. Thanks for letting me take your picture. Here's a sneak peak!

Sound asleep

You know you must be tired when you fall asleep playing mario kart! Jack was playing mario kart on the wii the other day and when I went to check on him he was sound asleep! This isn't the first time he has fallen asleep playing video games. He has done it several times before in the car playing his nintendo ds. I guess when it is 4:00 in the afternoon and you haven't had a nap you are bound to fall sleep even while playing the wii!

Sam's first day of kindergarten

Talking on the phone to Grandma telling her all about his day!

HE did it.....Samuel and I survived his first day of kindergarten! He has been so excited to go to school! This morning he actually wanted to ride the bus to school but I told him that dad and I wanted to take him to his first day of kindergarten. He was pretty upset with us for taking him and not letting him ride the bus. He soon got over it as we walked into the school. We took him into his classroom, he found his name on the back of his chair and got busy playing with the toys that were on the table. I had to ask him for a hug and to say goodbye to me. As I was saying goodbye to him I got all choked up but I managed to hold back the tears until we walked out of the school. After school he rode the bus home with all the other kids and we waited at the bus stop for him to get off. He looked like such a big boy getting off of the school bus!

I have been crying for weeks about this day. It is so hard to let your kids grow up, you ask yourself, where has the past five years gone?! I am so excited for him to go to school. He is going to learn and grow so much this year! Sam said he had fun today, he learned the rules of this classroom, got to play outside at recess and had a snack. What an exciting year this is going to be for him!

frogs

A few weeks ago Jake was mowing the lawn and found a cute little frog on the grass. He caught it and showed it to the kids, who thought it was the coolest thing ever. Laster that day we went out and bought our newest little friend a home and found him some nice crickets to eat. About a week later the kids and I were playing outside. Jack begins to tell me that he sees another frog. I asked him if he thought it was a grasshopper and it tells me no, not a grasshopper a frog! He was right, we now have ourselves two little frogs! The first one we found the kids decided to name him Flipper the Frog. The second frog we found they decided his name should be Freddy the Frog. The kids love them and love looking for food for our new pets.

Preschool

Jack had his first day of preschool yesterday on August 24th. It is still hard to believe that Jack is old enough to go to preschool. He knew who his teachers would be and the school since Sam went there last year. We love Forever Young preschool, they do an amazing job with the kids.

The morning of preschool Jack got up, took and bath, ate breakfast and got all ready to go, including his shoes and backpack on before it was even time to go. He was that excited to go. He let me take a few pictures outside of our house and then he said "I've had enough pictures, let's go to preschool." Sam being the big brother he is helped walk his brother up the path to the door. Jack is greeted by his teachers, puts his backpack in the cubby, and goes off to play with play dough. He looked a bit nervous and unsure as I took a few pictures but I knew he would be fine. So off we went on our way. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry. Luckily I held back the tears until I got in the car. It was hard for me to leave him because of how he looked a bit unsure. Samuel is so happy go lucky and loves people and makes friends easily. Jack on the other hand is more cautious of his surroundings and is a bit more quiet unitl he warms up to you.

This morning as we got ready to go Jack complained of a stomach ache. I was sure it was just nerves. I told his teacher and she was so sweet to send me a picture on my phone of him playing and having a great time. Jack will go to prechool Tuesday-Thursday for two hours a day. It will be interesting when Samuel starts Kindergarten next week and they are both gone at the same time. It is so hard to watch your kids grow up. I have been a wreck this week as I have realized that my kids are growing up. I don't know what I am going to do when I take Sam to Kindergarten a week from today! It's so exciting for them but at the same time you wish you could keep them little forever. I know Jack is ready for this and will love it, it will be so good for him.
