Happy Birthday Sam!!

Our First born turned 5 today!! How is that possible that I have a 5 year old now?!?! In just a few weeks we go to kindergarten registration with him. It is so hard to believe that my baby boy is going to be starting Kindergarten. Why does time have to go by as fast as it does? I wish we could keep our children little a tad bit longer :)

Hands in my pocket

One day while Jake was home for lunch he noticed Ava was walking around with her hands in her pocket. She thought it was fun for a while and then I think she got annoyed with me asking her to put her hands in her pocket so I could take pictures! She is one sweet little girl!

First trim

*Before*

*During*

*After*

I decided it was time for her Ava's first hair trim. She was starting to get the mullet look on the back of her hair. My neighbor Mindy came over and trimmed the back of her hair just a bit. Ava took one look at Mindy and lost it. She probably thought I was leaving her again as Mindy watched our kids for an hour the other day. There wasn't much to trim but she trimmed just enough of it off so it was bye bye mullet! Now maybe we can start getting her hair to grow more evenly!

Flood in our basement

Maybe I am exaggerating just a bit, we didn't have a real flood, just a little mishap this week that involved Jack, lots of toilet paper, the roll for the toilet paper, and the toilet! This all happened Monday morning, I was upstairs getting Ava dressed when Samuel comes up and informs me that Jack is doing something that I am not going to be happy about! I thought oh great what can that kid be doing now?! I run downstairs and he was in the bathroom(which is never a good thing) he had taken a roll of toilet paper off the roll, threw in a bunch of toilet paper and the roll, took the cardboard roll back out, now all wet with toilet water. and then ended by flushing the toilet. I looked at the toilet and nothing seemed to be unusual so I shut the door and told him to not do that again. I needed to get a few things at the store so we all piled into our minivan(thank goodness none of the Toyota recalls were on their minivan!) and hed to Wal-Mart.

We come home fix lunch for all of us (Jake usually comes home everyday for lunch) we eat, Jake goes back to work. I go downstairs to get the boys bear and dog and notice the floor is wet in the little hall by the bathroom. It's not just a little wet but really wet. I then go into the playroom to get their animals and notice that the floor is wet all along the wall by the bathroom. It's not just a little wet but really wet and a couple feet out from the wall. I then go into the bathroom and see that the toilet is overflowing from the bowl and now has about 1 inch of standing water!! I have to turn off the water to the toilet and get a cup and start pouring some of the water out of the toilet bowl so it doesn't continue to flood the bathroom! I then take every towel we own and begin soaking up all of the water on the floor.. I call Jake and he couldn't come home right then but came home about 30 minutes later with a huge fan! We then have the fun task of cleaning up our little mischievous boys mess!!

Even with all the things Jack does, gets into, breaks, he makes our lives ever so interesting and entertaining! Here are just a few pictures after I soaked up the water in the bathroom! In the blue container are all the toys/stuffed animals that were on the floor in the playroom that now had to be washed/cleaned off! The pick and green stuff on the floor was play-doh that I am sure my Jack got on the floor as they were playing with it earlier in the day!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Well, it was my 26th birthday yesterday but unfortunately I was sick :( I wasn't nearly as bad as I was earlier this week but it still put a damper on things. Jake, Sam, Ava and I have all been sick for a week now, Jack somehow escaped the sickness, lets hope he doesn't get it this coming week as we are getting better!

We decided we needed to get out of the house since we have been cooped up inside our germ infested home for a week now. We made the trip to Park City to do some shopping at the factory stores, went down the canyon to Salt Lake to visit with my parents and drop the kids off so Jake and I could do a little running around without kids. The boys had a blast playing outside with Grandpa and Grandma Jackson while Jake and I and Ava (we decided to bring her along with us since she has been pretty sick) went to a few more stores and then to In-N-Out Burger for some late lunch/early dinner. We then picked the boys up and went to visit with Jakes family for a bit before heading back home. We left Salt Lake around 7:00 and all three kids were asleep within 10 minutes and slept the entire 3 hours home. It actually did take up the whole 3 hours to get home since Jake didn't speed. He learned his lesson and got a speeding ticket a month ago! We saw around 8 police officers from park city to Vernal along Highway 40, they must have been staking out checking for lawbreakers! So it's a good thing Jake wasn't speeding. I had a wonderful birthday spending it with my family in 56 degree weather!! We didn't even need a jacket for most of the day!! Vernal was around 28-30 degrees!! Will you just please warm up here in Vernal so we can enjoy some warmth and sunshine?!?! Thanks to my wonderful husband for getting me new clothes, some jewelry and picture stuff and for my parents for getting me gift certificate to Cathe.com. She is an awesome fitness instructor and I love working out to her dvds, and to Jakes family for getting me a beautiful bracelet! I am so blessed to have my family and friends!

If you give two preschoolers a cupcake.....

They'll decide the best way to eat it is by eating all of the frosting off first! The other day Jake brought home some cupcakes and cookies. The boys were thrilled about eating their cupcakes, and this is how they accomplished it!
