Mom, I've got big foobs!

I just had to write down something Jack told me tonight. I was getting him dressed into his pajamas just about ready to zip them up when he stops me from zipping them up. He turns to me as he is pointing to his chest and says "look mom I've got big foobs!" It took me a second to realize what he was talking about and then I realized that he actually was trying to say boobs (pardon my language) I realized right then and there that I need to be careful about what I say in front of my children! I am sure he has heard me talk about those to Jake as I have been nursing Ava. Kids sometimes are just so funny in the things they say....they are very honest and tell it how it is!

She has teeth!

I was finally able to capture Ava's two little teeth she has on camera. It has taken me a couple of months to capture that cute toothy smile!

Playing at our playground!

One thing we really love about this house here in Vernal is this awesome "playground" that came with it. The boys call it their own playground. It is one of those nice big wooden swing sets and it sits in a big sandbox. I always wanted a sandbox in Murray but due to all the stray cats that hung around our circle Jake never would let me get one.....not even one that could be covered. So here are some pictures that we took playing at our playground on Mother's Day. Ava even enjoyed hanging out in the sling watching her brothers play!

I blinked.....and my baby girl was six months old!

Our perfect baby girl turned six months old today! I don't want to believe that all that time has past since she was born! I know I say over and over how much we love her but it is true.....things wouldn't be the same without her! She really is the perfect addition to our little family! It has been so fun for me to have a little girl to dress up and love! She is an absolute joy and we couldn't be any happier! She adores her brothers and loves to just sit and watch them play. I am sure she is just dying to roll around and play with them!

Some highlights of the past month:
  • Can roll over from her back onto her tummy (has rolled just a few times from her tummy to her back)
  • She really is becoming more and more vocal. She loves to hold conversations with us and just loves to hear her own voice!
  • Is getting more and more hair! That is quite an accomplishment.....our kids don't seem to have much hair when they are born.
  • Loves to sit in her swing and just watch everything go on.
  • Loves to be outside when it is warm and there is a slight breeze.
  • I have noticed that it is becoming increasingly more difficult to change her diaper......she just wants to squirm all over the place and check out her surroundings
  • Can sit all by herself for a few seconds while she is leaning over with her legs far apart (does that count as sitting up?!
  • She loves to reach for and hold her toys
  • Is now sleeping in her own room in her own crib!
  • She is getting better at falling asleep on her own. I usually feed her before nap time and then put her down in the crib, tell her goodnight and that I love her and she usually goes to sleep within a few minutes and hardly ever cries. Now we just need to figure out how to get her to sleep through the night!
  • She is doing a little better sleeping at night.....only waking up 2-3 times instead of 3-4 times a night.
  • She is still as tiny as ever! I am not sure how much she weighs.....we go in a couple weeks for her six month well visit. I am guessing since she was 11 lbs 14 oz at 4 months she might be 14 lbs at six months! Samuel and Jack were pretty little too but not this little! She is our itty bitty girl!
  • Loves to be tickled.
  • Smiles and laughs when her brothers are throwing a tantrum.....it is actually quite funny to see her laugh at them while they are throwing fits!
  • Still loves to eat her hands, feet and anything else that is in front of her!
  • Now that she has figured out how to roll over she loves sleeping on her side and her tummy and she still loves to be swaddled (Sam and Jack outgrew that by 3 months)
  • Still does not take a binky or bottle....we have just learned to accept that!
  • Loves to look and listen to the amazing world around her.
  • All around she is a really good baby just so full of life and love!
Happy Six months old!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to take a minute to say Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mom! She is the best mom I could ever ask for! I know in my teenage years I wouldn't have said that but isn't it funny how you grow up and you actually love your family and want to hang out with them?!

I just want her to know that I am so grateful for all that she has done for me and for helping me to be the mother I am now. I know that I can always count on her for advice and someone to talk to. She is a great example to me. I see all of the trials she has overcome in her life and I look up to who she has become. She has taught me many great things about myself and has helped me through my own trials in life and I want to thank her for that. I also want to thank her for her endless love she has shown me and for never giving up on me. My mother is a very compassionate person and is always trying to be the peacemaker. I appreciate her willingness to do anything for anybody. I appreciate all the many times she has helped me and continues to help me. I am sorry I can't be there in person to give you a hug and tell you I love you but I do want you to know how much we all love you and appreciate you today!

I also want my mother-in-law to know how much we love and appreciate her. I am so grateful to her and my father-in-law for teaching and raising such a wonderful son! Jake is a great husband and father and I feel so blessed that we have him!

Today on this Mother's Day I feel so blessed to be a mother to three beautiful children! Sometimes I think I am not deserving of these three little miracles Heavenly Father has sent me, I have my faults and heaven knows sometimes I get really frustrated being the mom to these kids. I am trying everyday to be a good mother and to teach them the things about this world and the things about their Father and Heaven and brother Jesus Christ. I know that it is my duty as their mother to teach them these things so that they can become independent successful adults who know who they are and that they are loved. I am so grateful for my three beautiful children and their constant unconditional love and their willingness to forgive me!

Happy Mother's Day to not only Mothers out there but to all women! What a great blessing it is to be a women and a daughter of our Heavenly Father! I believe that women bless so many lives with their gentle and compassionate nature.

A perfect day for flying kites!

We are starting to feel more settled and adjusted here in Vernal! I did get a new cell phone with service so now I don't feel completely lost. We are still waiting to get cable and Internet, hopefully they are coming on Friday. All of the boxes are now out of the way and mostly unpacked. There are a few I have to go through but those are in the storage room for now. Now I just need to decorate the house! We have met both of our neighbors on either side of us and both are very nice and welcoming. I will post some pictures of the house as soon as I get a chance to take some. I haven't had much time for taking pictures lately......it takes a lot of time and energy to move and unpack. We did find some time today to go fly kites. The boys got these kites on Easter and we haven't had a chance to use them until today. It was a perfect windy and warm day for flying kites and playing at the park!

I guess we aren't in Salt Lake anymore!

Wednesday was the big moving day......and boy was it such a long day!! The movers got to the house around 9:00 in the morning and we didn't take off to go to Vernal until almost 2:00 in the afternoon!! It took three long hours of driving and we arrived to our new house around 5:00. It took another 2-3 hours to get everything unloaded. By thins point everyone was so exhausted!! The kids actually did really well and only cried/complained the last 20 minutes of driving to Vernal! I had Ava in the van with me and Jake had the boys in the truck. Jack and Ava slept almost the whole way and Samuel stayed awake the entire time!

We realized as we were driving to Vernal that I didn't have cell phone service here, so on Thursday we headed to the Sprint store. We told the women we needed a phone and the first thing out of her mouth was "now you realize if you order a phone today it won't be here until Monday." Then Jake turns to her and asks so it would be quicker to go to Salt Lake and get a phone then?" We decided to just wait until Saturday to get a phone because we have to go to Park City area for our nieces baptism. We then headed out the door to our next stop, the Wal Mart which was across the street. Both Jake and I looked at each other and said we are defiantly not in Salt Lake anymore. Vernal only has two grocery stores and a Wal Mart....no Target, no Costco, no Old Navy, no mall! I started feeling homesick.......I miss Salt Lake.....maybe it is just because things are different and change is hard to get used to. I know things will be great here I just have to have a good attitude!

I do have to say that I love the house that Gramoll bought for us. It fits us perfectly....not too big....not too small! It has 5 bedrooms and an office, 3 bathrooms and an awesome sandbox and swing set in the back yard for the boys! We are starting to make a dent in all of the unpacking of the boxes. It will take a little bit to get completely unpacked and settled. I cannot wait until we are completely unpacked and settled and things can be somewhat back to normal!
